New Here, few questions - Focaljet

Hello, I might be picking up a 3dr SVT Focus in the next week and I had a few questions.

The car has 56k miles on it, it is a EAP with Moonroof but the bad part is it needs a motor. I have searched some junkyards and have not come up with a used engine.

Should I just have the existing engine rebuilt? The previous owner seized the motor due to lean conditions, so I don't know what is good or bad in the engine compartment.

The only reason I am considering this is because it is going to cost me less than 2k for the car.

Your help is appreciated.

Welcome!

A used SVTF engine can be a rare find. I guess what concerns me more is that although the motor is bad, what else may be bad due to owner neglect or just pure abuse (things like transmission, suspension, etc.). Was there any previous signs the car was modified in any way?

body looks to be in good condition, interior as well (minus one tear), and glanced underneath the car and didn't see anything abnormal..
