Question Motor mount dilemma

I've got u busted motor mount on my ZX3. Should i hit up the orig.'s or go aftermarket. Price and performance both in consideration equally. Any suggestions appreciated. (shouldt i replace the whole set even if i decide to go with stock mounts?)

Yes, you should replace all, just to save any hassels. Going aftermarket or OEM is really up to you. Ask Steve (FORDSVTPARTS) for a quote on some OEMS. A lot of people only use the aftermarket lower engine to impove shifter feel . The other two aftermarket mounts will keep the engine right in its' place but they will also transfer all of the engine and tranny vibrations to the body so you will feel alot more vibration in side the car. Also c-f-m.com one of our sponsors has a package deal on the aftermarket mounts for $385.

well, how many miles on ur acr, what year? what area of the ountry are you in, replacing them all is not neccesary usually, it just depends on the condition of the rubber. which mount is broke? really, unless you are racing with some good power, all you should go after market for is the lower tranny mount, but if ur not worried about how bad ur car vibrates, go for all. oh and auto, or manual?

I'm not sure if you're going aftermarket for performance or price. If for price (ie. generic from the parts store) don't do it. I had a huge headache trying to be cheap and buy non OEM generics. They are all crappy remanufactures. I had two go bad immediately. One actually "exploded" leaving the bare innards exposed. I went OEM and the car was smooth as butter.

Unless you like extra engine vibrations, I'd stick with OEM.

...aftermarket stuff is good for a butt massage and making your old interior rattle.

I would stay with oem, lower trans mount might be ok aftermarket.
