Hey guys
I'm a new member here. My name is scott I am 15 years old about to turn 16. My parents told me i can get a brand new ford focus coupe for my birthday. I was wondering which model you guys prefer out of the ford focuses. |

Welcome to FocalJet, Scott.
Model choice is up to you. If your parents are willing to foot the bill, I'd go for the top-of-the-line SES model. The SE model is pretty well equipped, but the SES should come with larger (17-inch) rims, some more features, and a bit better handling thanks to a slightly larger rear stabilizer bar.

Welcome Scott.
Finally someone my age ![]() Anyways, i'd go with the SES its roughly around 17k with a 5speed manual, and 18k for automatic. And its 35mpg fuel efficient . Good luck with your choice

Never mind I look around my area and they only sell 1 SVT 100 miles away. So now I'm going with the focus coupe SES.
Thanks for your input though Last edited by ortasscott; 06-30-2009 at 04:15 PM. |

What he didn't mention about us SVT owners is that we have to pay for High Test gas lol. I seem to fill mine up about twice a week but then again my cruising speed is about 70-75. Grab those free Autotrader magazines out of Grocery stores and restaurants thats how I found my SVT and it was about 2 minutes down the road at Bob Ruth in Pa. And they are MUCH better performance wise, alot of people acutally upgrade to SVT parts on their focus. But the new SES is really slick lookin', get the one with the spoiler that comes off of the roof

From a first car standpoint, I'd say stick with the 09 SES over an SVT. Granted, the SVTs look nice, but even an 04 SVT is coming on 5-6 years old. Performance wise, the SVT will be faster, but the new ones are no slouches. And with most of the mods you will do to it if you hang around this website long enough (suspension, intake, exhaust, etc.) the end results will be fairly similar in the performance category anyway. If the decision was mine to make I'd say get the new car. It might be your only opportunity to drive a brand new car for quite some time.
Welcome
