Hey, I'm new to the forums. I have a 99' Mercury Mystique (Mistake as I call it) and it's the clone of a Ford Contour. I've been looking at the engines between my car and a 00' Ford Focus. They don't seem all that different to me. Maybe there is and I'm just not seeing it, or maybe it's my lack of experience with Fords. If anybody could tell me if, for example, a cold air intake for a 00' Ford Focus could possibly fit into my car, I would very much so appreciate it.

I think a short ram designed for the Focus version of the Zetec should fit a Mystique just fine. I'd recommend the FocusSport Cool-Flo.
As for a "true" cold air intake? I'm not sure. I'm unaware of the geometry of the Contour engine bay. You'd probably be better off asking this at the Contour Enthusiasts Group. (Off-site) Welcome to the 'Jet!!
