I installed my O2 cheater. Very simple. But as I posted on another post, my Race header has no egr fitting, so I blocked the egr tube with a penny. I was reading and found out that the egr sends the exhaust gas back thru ( I knew that), but it ISN'T metered. What whould happen if I just left the end of the egr tube open(going to header)? Basicly remove the penny. I know I can fix this whole problem with a FS/SCT, but I dont have the $ right now. THx again. You all prolly hate me

Um...no. Since his race header has no EGR fitting, no exhaust will be escaping. If you leave the EGR tube open you will still be pulling unmetered air into the intake manifold, it just won't be hot exhaust. I'd say your best bet would be to leave it blocked. And..(insert shameless plug) save your other pennies and get the FS/SCT chip!

I ran mine open at first, then I blocked the end of the tube, after about a week I removed the whole thing and made a block plate. I didn't notice much of a difference but I don't drive the car that much. The reason I blocked it was to prevent a severe lean condition at part throttle when the egr is is open and allowing extra oxygen into the engine instead of exhaust gas. I never really noticed any surging with it open though so maybe it really wasn't a problem. Hope this helps!
