i did a search but i am an idiot and i couldnt find anything. has anyone had a problem with an auto trans slipping. my dads focus is 2003 auto with 38k and the trans is slipping already. its gettin covered by the waranty so its all good but just wondering if anyone else has had this problem too?

from what i understand. this slipping type feel could be coming from the cars computer. the comp. is some how able to rember shift points at a certain percentage of throttle opening. if you press on the gas and then let of the slightest bit then the shift will be unmatched with the amount of gas. Like if you flor it and then let of the gas, the rev will hand up there for a while before changing to the next gear because the ecu is expecting a shift somewhere later in time anyway due to the wide open throttle percentage.
thats how it was explained to me anyway. i think this is a ford thing that they do on all there auto tranys. |
