==================================
Here are some basic problems that can occur with adding
bolt-ons for our cars. These can hinder the performance from
our mods.
Dirty MAFs
Your MAFs is located on your intake:
The two screws are a torx T-20 security bit.
When you remove it be very gentle with it. Do NOT touch the
wires inside with anything, i used some CRC electronic
cleaner you can pick this up at a local checkers..etc.
Vacuum leak:
when your hose becomes old, it gets sticky and
is very squishy. check to see if the hose has
any kinks in it. It comes around from behind the
engine and goes into a fitting for the PCV.
DPFE:
When this goes out, your car could bog down under load
and have a rough idle.
PCV:
When this sticks shut/open it could have some problems
with a lack or hesitation of power. but this may not
show signs of problems just by itself
TPS:
When your TPS seems to be acting up, your idle
could fluctuate up and down. people say to remove it
and start your car if it runs better, problem found.
Where are they located?
Maf = on your intake. MAF
TPS = side of throttle body. TPS
PCV = next to the header just look down and to the right. PCV
Vacuum = behind engine on intake manifold "larger hose". Vacuum
DPFE = on firewall left of brake booster. DPFE
What do good-bad plugs look like?.
Normal "good to go"
Worn Out "replace plugs"
Oil inside of Cylinder "rebuild time!"
If you can think of anything else that can wrong with adding
MORE power to our engine, without use of F/I, please PM me.
Thanks everyone.
