Default Zetec VCT sensor... HELP!!

Ok, this is may be the incorrect place to post this, but we don't have a place here for Escorts but it's the same engine mainly. Anyhow, to the point. I'm curious of a way to disable/bi-pass the VCT (Variable Cam Timing) on the engine. If it's unplugged the car will throw a CE light ASAP. The car needs to pass emissions so the CE light being on is not an option. I haven't found a VCT cheater or any way new computer system that will work on the Escort (without rewiring the car). Does anyone know the voltage for the VCT so I can make/buy a cheater with the same voltage to get that @#( CE light off?

I would think the easiest way to do this would be with a chip. What is your EEC code? I'll see if I can burn a file with the VCT disabled.

The computer code is CWQ3. Let me know the price of the chip, tuning, etc. and I'll see what we can work out!!

I haven't done too much work on the Escort, but to me it looks like the VCT can be controlled and also switched off. You want it disabled right? If so the price is $299. If you are serious about doing this, send me an e-mail randy @ focussport . com and we'll get this sorted.
