Default SVT Brakes on ZX3

Ok so I just bought all the hardware off an svtf and installed it on my zx3, all done except for two things

-I cannot get the clip on the caliper for nothing! any ideas would help out a lot!

-Also on the e-brake cables it's all together except for where it connects to to actual e-brake, can I buy that little piece from ford?

Justin

Call Steve (aka, FORDSVTPARTS), if that part can be purchased from Ford, he will get it for you, and the price will be less than (usually) or equal to anyone else. He might also know the answer to your first question. Unfortunately, for calling any business, it's the 4th, you'll have to wait until Monday. Hopefully you can get the first part answered before then.

I had a bit of trouble getting that clip on, myself. In the end, it took some pliers and screwdrivers and a bit of tapping with a mallet after trying it in about 5 different angles before I could get it to stay. I know it's frustrating, but be patient, and once you get it, you'll wonder why it took you so long to figure it out. BTW, that is a nice kit. You'll love it! I put that thing on my now-deceased Jellybean and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

^Sorry to hear about "Jellybean". Was that the Focus with all the mods? I missed an "obit", did you post one somewhere... accident, or major mechanical failure?

ok so new problem, I've bled the brakes multiple times (starting with pass rear, pass drive, front pass and front drive), and my brake pedal still goes close to the floor before it catches. any ideas?

If you aren't getting any more air out of the calipers, bleed them from the lines at the master cylinder. Here is the process:

you need 2 people

have your helper sit in the car, attempt to slowly pump the pedal. With the pedal down half way and held steady crack the first master cylinder line just enough to get air or fluid. When your helper says pedal is on the floor have them hold it until you have the line tightened and repeat till you get no air. After all the master cylinder lines are bled, the calipers will need to be bled again. You obviously have air in your system and a lot of it.

Also if you are using a vacuum bleeder or pneumatic bleeder you can slightly tap the calipers with a wrench to help get any trapped air bubbles out.
