Splice the two wires into the existing low speed harness.

Is it the dual or single setup?

Probe them with a multimeter? I haven't done any work with the fans myself. Is one 12v and one a trigger for a relay? I have no idea honestly. Best way is to hit it with a multimeter and see what's on each wire.

It will work either way I believe. Wire it, don't do anything permanent, make sure.

Also....leave you stock fans installed and set the active temp down, that FAL is worthless if it's the single.

the entire cooling system is upgraded, one fan is really all he needs.

besides, the turbo sits awfully close to the stock fan setup, and the shroud was already messed up before it got melted.

If you're talking about the connector at each independent fan motor, one is power and the other ground. If you're talking about the connector to the main shroud itself, one wire goes to resistor in shroud top center and then both fans for low speed. That's the normal fan circuit turned off and on by temp sensor. The other wire bypasses the resistor, it has power when A/C is on for high speed to both motors. Those two wires are spliced together somewhere in shroud wiring after the resistor so that both fans can go low speed or high speed at the same time, based on which relay (high or low) is activated. That's on '00 model.

What I meant was;

The FAL doesn't care which wire sees what. Not the factory harness.

venoms old whip is turbo? hmm.

The single FAL is worthless, don't care what cooling system it is.

It pulls less air than the factory fans on 'high'.

Go aftermarket(fal or spal) duals. Didn't realize it was being 'upgraded' because of a meltdown.

I used heatshroud and reflective tape on my factory fans so the turbo wouldn't cause a meltdown.

i have venom's old car. the original fans broke on him then we used zipties to hold them on. The heat from the turbo melted that and cause then to fall into the midpipe and melt. the car runs cold cause of the fluidye radiator. so half the time the fans never come on.

once i do this there will be a right up on how to do this for the future ppl

for the record, my car was PWSC, the blower came off, and the turbo went on with the new owner. It has a Fluidyne radiator, full samco hose kit, 180* thermostat. overkill, yes. but the stock radiator developed a leak, and my warranty covered the fluidyne replacement (cost me 50 bucks, installed ).

The stock fans just kind of sat in the notches provided by the fluidyne, and I didnt know it at the time. part of the shroud broke, so I just ziptied it at 6 different points around the radiator and never had a problem for around 2 years or so.

I acquired the FAL fan about a year ago and never used it, so at this point it is the option we have that I have right now, as my parts car does not have the fan assembly. The dual fan FAL or SPAL setups are much more expensive, and he isnt planning on using the A/C anyway. The fan I got flows 1150 CFM if I remember correctly, so its no slouch.

I dont think we used enough zip ties for that stock fan on the turbo setup.

I do not have pic, won't help you anyway as obvious you do not understand the system. You have to decide to run low speed part time on/off with temp sensor, high speed on all the time (with A/C), or make up your own high speed part time on demand by cutting out the resistor. Pic won't address any of that. I'm assuming of course stock harness up until fan shroud connection. Since you have a separate fan assembly (no resistor) and assuming no A/C, see if you have green/white wire. That one can be used as power for on demand, temp sensor turns it on. If you have green/blue, use it for power on all the time (for A/C). Both will be high speed (full 12 volt) since you bypass the resistor. Those color codes for '00 model, don't know if they carry over into later years. The ground wire you can attach to a good ground point anywhere.

Amen to that.

We had to take it out of the FSP car because it couldn't keep the temps down on 95+ degree days... on a naturally aspirated Duratec!

Yep.

At the very least, get yourself 2 single FAL's and w/ a bit of shroud trimming. BAM!

Cheap duals!

well, it runs fine with just one for now, it is a bit cold out though.

there will be more testing done when it gets warmer, but this will work fine for now.
