I have noticed in the past that I'm not the only one with problems with the idle and revs. When I first installed it, the car would rev itself up until I went under the hood and pushed the throttle bracket back to the screw. Anyways, this time I noticed that the throttle bracket wouldn't go back to the screw. Well the throttle cable seems to catch and restrict the bracket from closing all the way. I labeled the pics, so follow with me. I'm pretty sure point(A) is the throttle cable and point(B) is the cruise control cable. Feel free to correct me. Anyways, I noticed that the throttle cable(A) was hitting the throttle bracket at point(D) on the CFM throttle body. It seems that at point(C) that stupid black serrated ring, if removed, would help relieve some tension on the throttle cable. When you remove this the very first time, it damages the ring a bit, so make sure it gets on there PERFECTLY straight as well. Perhaps cutting of the bracket and shortening it about a tenth of an inch would also do some good. By shortening I mean pretty much cutting and welding back on, because a tenth of an inch would be hard to remove. Anyways, what I did, was take the throttle cable and pull on it just a bit. There's a snag inside so the cable doesn't pull out of the plastic arm, I kinda pulled it up a little tighter on that snag, and it was just enough to give me perfect idle and no revving of the engine on it's own. I'm sure somebody's already figured all this out, but I thought I'd go into how I did it. Hope that helps some new guy that comes along in the future.

i solved that issues some years ago by taking delrin spacers (bought in various thicknesses til i found a winner think somehtin like 4-5mm was best) and placing em behind the TB bracket that bolts to TB. need longer bolts so i took the TB in and matched em up. then again for me teh ported stock unit was superior for my application over those bigger units.
thanks for joggin my memory of the old days... R
