Default Cleaning a Volant Air Filter

I would like to clean my Volant air filter. Would this be worth it or advisable or is buying a new one a better option. It has stayed clean for a long time but its over due time from the looks. I didnt want to just go buy a cheap replacement.

Ok, I will go that route. Its cheaper than buying a new one.

I used a K&N kit, really anything will work. Just make sure when you use the cleaner spray, it's completely dry before you re-oil it.

No, it's just the certain color of oil they use.

I got my Volant second-hand, and used the K&N kit to clean it every 10,000-20,000 miles. The filter still worked great after 100,000 miles of use.

Be very careful when you re-oil it to cover the filter thoroughly, but don't overdo the oil. I recommend letting the filter sit overnight to let the excess oil drip off. Otherwise, your MAF sensor may get fouled from the oil coming off the filter, causing your car to run like crap. It's easy enough to clean the MAF, but it's easier if you don't have to.
