I'm gonna buy this header
http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...ProductID=7389 And I will also install the rest of the exhaust system, of course I can't afford a Flowmaster/Magnaflow cat back, so I'll put a custom system in a muffler shop (I live in Mexico), so my question is: What kind of system, diameter or whatever affects the sound should I install so my car won't sound a lot (like a ricer car)? I just want a nice sound, not so loud. I want a sound like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6xhm...eature=related THANKS. |

If you are deleting the cat, I'd go straight to a 4-2-1 long tube. Check out the OBX one.
It's a bit more expensive, but worth it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-4...Q5fAccessories For an exhaust, the biggest thing is throwing a huge resonator in there. That will keep it quiet.

Go to 2.25"-2.5" exhaust tubing (57mm-63mm) and throw on a nice big resonator. You could also go the same route FocusSport went and throw on two resonators. The FS Stealth exhaust system uses two Magnaflow resonators.
That'll keep your header noise down.

Go with the OBX. It's an extra 5hp or so (at least) over the header you linked to.

It depends on how you want to drive the car. The shorty you posted will help preserve low end torque better that the long tube, but the long tube that is mentioned above will free up more top end HP.
If you use the shorty, stick with 2.25 inch piping, and a long resonator into a straight-through (turbo style) muffler. Bigger tubes will give a more hollow sound and slow your exhaust gasses. But you'll need to wrap the header, because it's chromed not ceramic coated, so the underhood temps will be high without wrap.

if you are worried about sound AND flow, you will want a high flow cat and as many mufflers as you can fit....
