I couldn't resist any longer and checked out Iron Sky the other night. I laughed more than I should have.

You mean the publisher decided they were asshats and wanted too much money so Netflix said FU and dropped their show.

I bet you can "acquire" the entire series online and then you will never have to worry about those episodes disappearing again.

Netflix still has the series.

In order to finish it, I would have to reactivate my disc plan. Which isn't going to happen. Amazon Prime has the episodes available for streaming though.

Amazon obviously paid more for a longer contract on the streaming episodes.

The publishers demand different prices and contracts for DVD vs streaming content. So, to say its Netflix fault a show is no longer available via streaming isn't entirely accuarate.

Hell, on their disc plan if a series is in demand they can just buy more DVDs to mail out since the publishers have no control over that. Yet.

Phil shhhhhhhhh!

It's been going bonkers for a few months now. I think a lot of people are looking at their cable bills and wondering why they even have subscription broadcast TV. We've been using an HD antenna, Netflix and Hulu Plus for well over a year now and have had no regrets. One thing is for sure, when I do watch TV it's ALWAYS something I want to see.

Valhalla Rising

It's rather odd, but I liked it.

And it stars Mads Mikkelsen, otherwise known as Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. He's also excellent in Flame and Citron.

 I see they past HBO in subscribers too.

I'm doing the same as you. I have basic cable because I use Comcast for the internet. :). Netflix,Hulu and (keep this on the downlow) kickass torrent, serves me well.

April 8th, price was $163 a share. Today it closed at $261.81. $295 high.

I've been doing the same. Saves me 100 bucks a month.

I haven't had a OTA/cable TV for 5 years now. Between Netflix, Amazon, but mostly BBC iPlayer for original content, we have quite a bit to watch. Plus the individual streaming stations like CBS, CW & others for up to date shows.

Two years without any digital TV service. I'm on basic cable (for local and national sports), Netflix, Amazon, and the usual free apps/content from other stations.

Do the other streaming places have the entire Trailer Park Boys series... AAAAAND all the movies, though?!

I'm gonna be real honest: haven't checked recently to see if they're still there! Same with the frat-boy-style Ghost Adventures... I need to see if they loaded ones I haven't seen...

Yep. I need to spend a bit of time and figure out if now is a good time to sell.

In keeping with the original intent of this thread though, I highly recommend watching Trinity & Beyond An Atomic Bomb Movie and A World Without US. Both great documentaries.

House of Cards season 2 just added to Netflix today. You're doing yourself a disservice if you ignore this drama.

Haven't seen season 1, or any thing relating to it.
Probably going to cancel my netflix actually.
TV, I have Hulu plus and it does just fine. Better video quality also ... I can choose vs Netflix choosing.
I also have PLEX setup. Still playing and learning it, but it's the free alternative/option and has more of the things I like to watch, NOVA style things.

I'm just sick and tired of not finding any movie I actually want to watch on Netflix. Thousands of them I've never heard of though and have no desire to watch.

I have both Hulu plus and Netflix. Neither stands out over the other except for one issue...commercials. In that case, Netflix is the clear winner. I HATE waiting for a commercial to finish.

BTW, you can select HD or standard with Netfix. Just check the BIG RED BOX that pops up when your mouse hovers above the "HD" box. :)
