Hi guys! Sam here!

I was brought here by GapBoyPCS about possibly buying a new camera and came here for advice or some leads on where to get one.

I saw these two cameras just walking randomly though isles and I really like them both:
Canon Powershot SX150 IS--> http://www.staples.com/Canon-PowerShot-SX150-IS-Digital-Camera-Black/product_370401
Canon Powershot SX40 --> http://www.staples.com/Canon-PowerShot-SX40-HS-Digital-Camera/product_364207

Only thing is they are a bit pricey but I want quality too so if need be Ill pay for that price, just wanna know if there is a location that sells these for cheaper.
I stink researching prices for electronics T^T Unless a suggestion in a far better Canon camera at an affordable price other than these that would be great too! =)

I am looking for a canon:
- Good close up shots [for portfolio mock up shots for my website | vehicle close ups | landscape photography]
- Nice high quality night setting for taking picture at night for car meets
- Decent far distant shots but still maintaining high quality
- High shake resistance.
- Lightweight and not bulky [at least to store easily without having a large suitcase to put it in lol]
- Good color quality for indoor photography usage

I know alot of cameras have these features but looking for a well decent one that gets the job done. My highest budget is around $300 for now.

Get a used DSLR and a lens or two (prime and telephoto maybe?). :) Look at pricing for a used Canon T2i or Canon 20D and start from there. I just did a search on CL and found a someone selling a used 20D (low actuations) with 18-55mm lens and some extras (battery grip, extra battery, and bag) for $300 in my area.

I'm picking up a Canon S100 as a portable alternative when I don't want to lug my DSLR around. A used Canon S95 should be going for $250-$300.

Just get a good camera that allows you to have some manual control.

Cool thanks! =D
I was just unsure to look for a used one since with me and used electronics never went too well int he past but I'm sure people who have cameras like these they should take care of them well xD
Would Craiglist be ok or somewhere better to look for used cameras?
